On Wednesday night, live DJ, DJ Drew, set the musical tone for a classy, energetic and accessible event. Many of Greater Boston’s finest salons, product suppliers and more all gathered in preparation for Salon Week. Salon Week, April 1-7, is a week-long industry celebration where premium salons across the nation offer half off select services. Salon owners, managers and business supporters of the salon industry gathered Wednesday night to network and register to participate in this effort to gain new and solid clients.

Marc Harris, the salon owners, along with the Procter and Gamble reps I talked to, all agree, music and fashion blend well together. The salon owner and management team must decide, for example, what music is suitable for the theme and cliental the salon wants returning. Is it energetic with house music? Is it urban? Or, perhaps soundscapes and jazz for a spa feel.

The Boston Music Coalition supports Salon week and the entire fashion industry. Just like DJ Drew, Fashion and Music mix perfectly!
