What would you say if I told you that kids, teens and young adults could not only get along, but help each other to become the best that Massachusetts has to offer in Percusion Music Performance?
I am amazed to learn about this group of 26 young people ranging in ages from 10-22. Each of them practicing after school and giving up Saturday's and February School Vacation in order to compete in the Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships. Frankly, you will be amazed as well.
The group of young people participating in this event, known as, SPIRIIT WINTER PERCUSSION are from Orleans, Mass and will compete Friday, April 10 in Dayton, Ohio. Not only has thier show, "TANGO" received industry buzz, but this group of young people received scores in the top bracket in the New England Competition circuit.
As much as I encourage people to go out and see live musicians, I realize that everyone may not be able to fly to Dayton Ohio to see Massachusetts young musicians compete. Instead, Get a day pass and gather the family around any Internet screen you can find and cheer on our local young musician Heroes!
