The Music is loud; The People are Proud and We Are All Boston Strong!

 By Doug Ruffin
      President,
      Boston Music Coalition

These last two weeks have been challenging to say the least. I feel for the victims and Families and Friends of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. As we work together to heal; take a listen. The music is playing and it’s getting louder! We are proud of those who serve and protect us while we turn to each other for strength.

Music is a major source of the energy that provides us all with the strength to be Boston Strong. This is, in fact, as good as time than any to get out to local area businesses and music venues throughout greater Boston. What ever you are in to, a lot of great music is playing live right now!

The Rock “N” Roll Rumble Rocks greater Boston again this year. Eddie Japan as well as the Dogmatics rumble at TT The Bears, 10 Brookline Street, Cambridge, MA this weekend starting Friday night. Get more information about this years Rumble at www.facebook.com/rockandrollrumble .

Its Jazz Week! April 26 – May 5 it all gets started at noon Friday, April 26 with free Jazz events throughout Boston and Cambridge. In Copley Square at the Courtyard of the Boston Public Library as well as South Station, Downtown Crossing, The Conservatory of Music and the Harvard square T stop in Cambridge. Many other events will be taking place. Some require ticket purchase, others are free or an RSVP may be needed. Scullers Jazz Club, The Boston Public Library, Wally’s Jazz café, Berklee Performance Center and so much more, all week long! Visit my friends at JazzBoston for all the information. www.jazzboston.org .

Let’s get “Together” Boston! EDM Performers, DJs and Producers will converge throughout greater Boston. We have a real commercial Electronic Dance Music Radio format at last in Boston; Evolution 101.7 WEDX is indeed All Things Dance! But the evolution of Electronic Dance Music has started around here years ago. “Together” (May 12 -19) celebrates Music with attention to Electronic Dance Music. “Together” now commands the attention and full participation of business and City Government. Panels, technology demonstrations and Music everywhere! Get you Together Pass now plus schedules, lineups and more. Visit www.togtherBoston.com .

Music and Arts performances continue at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown. The stage is set for live performances this weekend and beyond. For performance listings and ticket information, visit www.arsonalarts.org .

Clubs and venues are open, playing great music and mixing even better drinks. With reverence and concern for what happened and how it affected us, I’m staying Boston Strong and goin’ out tonight, this weekend and beyond. Hope you will do the same!
